In an article we wrote a few weeks ago, we brought attention to the fact that an Islamic Tribunal (IT) was created in Texas. (Read Article)
However once the news began to spread throughout Irving, Texas and surrounding cities — The city’s concerned citizens [rightfully] began to worry about the dangers of allowing a different Judicial system to govern American citizens whether it be formal or informal.
This resulted in the city voting to approve a resolution aimed at securing the dominance of American Laws over Foreign Laws.
The outcome of the vote was 5-4, with the majority supporting the resolution to ensure that American and Texas laws are not overshadowed by any other foreign law (including Sharia)
However this sparked outrage among the cities Muslim activists, stating that the proposed legislation is an attack on their religion and evidence of Islamophobia.
