ISIS/ISIL – The ‘Invisible’ Threat
Roughly 3 years ago, no one had heard of the Terror group known as ISIS/ISIL. However everyone was somewhat familiar with Al Qaeda and Osama Bin Laden.
In fact, I still remember the 2011 night that President Obama got on National Television and informed the American people that Osama Bin Laden had been killed in a ‘special operation’ and that Al Qaeda had been defeated. That quickly became the highlight of his Presidency
Fast forward a couple of years later, ISIS/ISIL seemingly emerged out of thin air and began taking over the middle-east. When they first emerged in Iraq, The President mocked the group — stating that they were just a few local ‘wannabees’ who posed no real threat to Iraq or America.
Not long after, they conquered Iraq. They are currently conquering Syria…
But what was most shocking is that no one could figure out where this group came from, it was as if ISIS/ISIL materialized over night.
However in a recent Press Conference, President Obama made a “mistake” that many believe could be the answer to the question that no one has been able to answer.
Freudian Slip: We Are Training ISIS
While speaking to the press concerning the current threat of ISIS/ISIL in Iraq and Syria, President Obama made a startling statement that has been deemed a “verbal mistake”, however it has [since] raised many eyebrows.
In the Press conference, President Obama stated that his Administration would continue training ISIL (ISIS) Forces in the Anbar Province.
“we’re speeding up training of ISIL forces, including volunteers from Sunni tribes in Anbar Province.”
However what increased suspicions is the fact that the White House ‘edited’ the transcript of that press conference to ‘clarify’ the President’s remarks.
As reported by RT NEWS:
“US efforts to train anti-ISIS forces in Iraq and Syria have been falling far short of the Pentagon’s goals, senior officials have confirmed. Last month, Defence Secretary Ash Carter admitted to Congress that the Pentagon had not been able to find enough “legitimate” Iraqi recruits to fight off IS extremists. At that point, the US military had trained some 9,000 Iraqi soldiers, while projections called for 24,000.
Carter told a Senate committee on Tuesday that out of 7,000 volunteers in Syria, less than one percent made it through the vetting process.”
“Washington’s reluctance to confront IS openly, the continued calls for regime change in Syria, and the conflicting regional interests of US allies, have all led some critics to accuse the US of being the secret sponsor of the self-proclaimed Islamic State.”
