November 20, 2014 — In a Presidential address, President Obama pretty much told Congress and the nation that he alone knows what is best for the country and that he will not be stopped by anyone who is not smart enough to support his agenda — including Congress.
Obama has concluded that he is willing to take whatever action he deems necessary to keep his agenda rolling, whether it is constitutionally legal or not.
In a fifteen minute speech, President Obama outlined how he would bypass Congress and sign his own law into existence through executive order.
But he immediately followed that “Punch in the Gut” up with few heart-warming stories in order coax his listeners into adopting and supporting his ideology.
(A tactic the Obama Administration uses quite often)
It seems that no matter what the topic, whenever the President is forced to address the nation on a controversial issue — he uses the same tactics out of his old-skool playbook to win-over the general public.
In his address, the President resorted to one of the grandfather moves of politics, The scape-Goat. (blame your opponent).
President Obama essentially implied that the reason the United States immigration policy is broken is because — the Republicans broke it.
(Doesn’t that take you back to your Daycare days?)
“Had the House of Representatives allowed that kind of bill — a simple yes or no vote — it would have passed with support from both parties and today it would be the law.
But for a year and a half now, republican leaders in the house have refused to allow that simple vote.”
Although this statement may seem like it actually was the Republicans who failed to allow the immigration system to be fixed, what the President fails to mention is that he wanted Congress to pass a bill that would legalize millions of illegal immigrants despite the fact that the law said they could not be legalized except through the legalization process.
Therefore President Obama wanted Congress to make it legal for illegal immigrants to become legal without complying with the law. (Sounds ridiculous right?)
Not only that, but when Congress told President Obama that a ONE-CLICK legalization “magic-trick” for millions of illegal immigrants was not the answer to our immigration problems — He refused to accept the proposals and alterations made by Congress.
Therefore no progress on the immigration issue was made.
President Obama didn’t like that.
Although there are many views on the subject, the primary reason the immigration bill did not pass through the house is because it would most likely harm American society and our Economy.
Think about this, the unemployment-rate in America is about 6%.
( 300M citizens x 6% = 18,000,000 unemployed US-born citizens. )
President Obama is about to legalize roughly 5,000,000 immigrants “temporarily”.
That means that EVERY single unemployed American must now compete with 5,000,000 NEW citizens for Jobs.
Not only that —
The “New” Citizens can now get legal access to food stamps and other forms of government assistance when at first they had to remain in the shadows and provide for their own livelihood.
Do you think they will become legalized American citizens and not take advantage of the opportunity to have the government and other tax-payers help them buy food and survive?
Of course they will.
Now can you imagine the financial strain that 5-11 million undocumented citizens applying for government assistance would put on our economy?
But the USA already has an OUTSTANDING DEBT ($17,951,544,000,000)
And it climbs by roughly $20,000 every 30 SECONDS. (www.USdebtClock.org)
Although President Obama assures us that we have nothing to worry about,
we also have to take into consideration that he has not been the most reliable source throughout his presidency.
He also told us…
And his most famous line…
“If you like your plan, you can KEEP your plan”
– Barack H. Obama
Each statement and assurance that the President has made has turned out to be false,
One can only take his word with a grain of salt.
Although many Democrats may argue that the taxes of illegal immigrants would help our economy and reduce our deficit, this is a faulty statement in that it over-estimates the impact that their taxes would have on the U.S. economy.
Despite what the Obama Administration tries to portray, the issue of immigration is not as “common sense” as they would like you to believe. It is a very tough question that must be addressed not just morally, but logically.
Of course we want everyone to have a fair chance in America, but we must also protect the country that we must pass on to our children and their children.
President Obama Continued…
“Now I continue to believe that the best way to solve this problem is by working together to pass that kind of common sense law.
But until that happens, there are actions I have the legal authority to take as President. The same kinds of actions taken by Democratic and Republican Presidents before me that will help my our immigration system more fair and more just. Tonight, I am announcing those actions (executive orders)”
After declaring that he would “go it alone”, Obama outlined his 3-point fix to the Immigration issue.
In an attempt to exalt his immigration efforts, President Obama stated the following…
“undocumented workers broke our immigration laws, and I believe that they must be held accountable — especially those who may be dangerous.
That is why over the past 6 years Deportations of Criminals are up 80%”
Upon first glance, you may be tempted to be impressed by this overly inflated statement — but lets examine it a little further before we give undeserved credit.
This is just another instance where the Obama Administration fabricates its own data in an attempt to bolster failing policies.
“That is why over the past 6 years (of his presidency) Deportations of Criminals are up 80%”
President Obama places emphasis on the word “Criminal” in order to mislead the American people about the effectiveness of his immigration strategy.
The reason Obama can say that the deportations of Criminals is up 80% is because until now, no other President has actually tried to separate illegal immigrants into criminal/non-criminal categories.
According to Law, it doesn’t matter whether you have a criminal record or not — If you are in America illegally then you cannot stay. No Exceptions.
By saying that criminal deportations is “Up by 80%” in his statement, President Obama is being misleading considering that “Criminal Deportations” is not a formerly acknowledged statistic.
It would be the equivalent to me saying that I have a 100% success-rate at scratching my nose when it itches, or blinking, or yawning.
Because I create the parameters of the statistic, I can control my effectiveness at it. This is essentially what the Obama Administration has done (and frequently does).
The President could have just as easily said that criminal deportations are up by 100%, but because 100% sounds unrealistic — he settled for 80%.
When we think of illegal immigrants, immediately we think of people of Hispanic descent entering America through Mexican border — But did you know that all illegal immigrants in America are not coming from Hispanic Nations?
According to the agents who actually patrol the border, immigrants are coming from all over the world and are entering America.
But most shockingly, immigrants are coming not from friendly or neutral nations who America has no quarrel with — but instead many are coming directly from opposing nations such as…
President Obama continued his speech by moving on to the next play in his playbook.
The Guilt-bomb.
“But even as we focus on deporting Criminals, the fact is millions of immigrants — in every state of every race and nationality — still live here illegally.
And lets be honest — tracking down, rounding up, and deporting millions of people isn’t realistic. Anyone who suggest otherwise isn’t being straight with you. Its also not who we are as Americans.”
Here President Obama paints deportation as some sort of hate-crime that gathers 500 immigrants together and stuffs them into a tiny box (without bubble-wrap) only to be shipped back to their place of origin.
To make matters even worse, the President implies that anyone who disagrees with his position on the issue (The ‘racist’ Republicans) actually wants to see this happen.
“Are we a nation that tolerates the Hypocrisy of a system where workers who pick our fruit and make our beds, never have a chance to get right with the law?
Or are we a nation that gives them the chance to make ammends, take responsibility, and give their kids a better future.”
Twitter exploded with tweets under the #ImmigrationAction hashtag as the speech was under weigh with tweets such as the following…
There were also many tweets from opposing view-points on the immigration issue as well as on the President’s executive decision to bypass congress.
The President continued his speech by addressing (and outright insulting) Congress.
“And to those members of Congress who question my authority to make our immigration system work better, or question the wisdom of me acting where congress has failed — I have one answer… Pass a Bill (Do something).”
He continued…
“I want to work with both parties to pass a more permanent legislative solution, and the day I sign that bill into law the actions I take will no longer be necessary.”
I am at a lack of words when I see the arrogance that this President has developed not only for his presidential power, but for the right of anyone to challenge him.
President Obama is essentially telling Congress that if they would let him do what he wants, then he would not have to do it anyway. This is not how the founding fathers aligned the separation of powers in America.
If the different branches of America are in disagreement then there is supposed to be ‘Dead-lock’, not 1 branch overruling the other (as the Obama Administration has done time and time again)
Sadly, Congress is partly to blame.
Congress has allowed this Administration to trample upon their authority time and time again and each time they have done nothing but “folded” like a cheap lawn-chair under the pressure.
If Congress knows that what is being done is unlawful, then they have a responsibility to take a stand against the rogue branch of government (the executive branch in this case).
President Obama cannot simply decree his own laws into existence at the drop of a hat by side-stepping congress through executive order. That is the text-book definition of a Monarch (King).
Yet this is the attitude that President Obama has developed towards his political power over America and its policies, both foreign and domestic.
