Though she has passed on, she leaves behind not only a son (Guy Johnson), but also a generation of touched hearts and changed lives. Maya’s poetry extended far beyond the words on a page — she was also a human-right’s activist and a humanitarian as well. And her dreams and Ideas live on in the hearts of all those she impacted with her artistry.
Although we did not know that Maya’s final tweet would be her last, She was able to blow us away with her last piece of art using Twitter as her Canvas.
