After hearing the news about the brutal death of the U.S. journalist James “Jim” Foley by the militant group ISIS — the world was virtually in shock.
So after I posted the blog post pertaining to the President’s address regarding the death of James Foley — I later began to search the web for more info on the topic.
While searching the web I ran across a news report that stated that the United States government was working on verifying the video to ensure its authenticity.
(The Obama administration later verified the video in the address to America.)
After what seemed to be hours of online searching, I eventually stumbled across the video. But as I began to watch — Something just didn’t seem right.
The narrative that is being released by the mainstream media is that James was captured and was being held prisoner by the militant group. But as I listened to the video and the speech that was allegedly prepared for Jim to read — I couldn’t help but make a few disturbing connections.
In the beginning of the statement, we hear as James Foley makes a call to his family, friends, and loved one.
“I call on my friends family and loved ones to rise up against my REAL killers — The U.S. government. For what will happen to me is only a result of their complacency and criminality”
Said Jim Foley.
Now after hearing this, I was confident that he was obviously reading a script prepared for him by the ISIS militants.
But then he continued…
“My message to my beloved parents,
Save me some dignity — and don’t accept any meager compensation for my death from the same people who effectively hit the last nail in my coffin with their recent aerial campaign in Iraq.”
After hearing this statement by Foley, I was a little befuddled.
Although it is not impossible — I couldn’t help but wonder how the ISIS militants were so familiar with U.S. diplomacy to know that the families of veterans are provided with financial aid if killed on duty.
But hey, it doesn’t take a genius to conclude that a family may be compensated for the loss of a family member in active duty — but this presented another unanswered question.
How did the ISIS militants even know that James Foley even had parents who are still alive?
I mean, with Foley being already 40 years old — It is not uncommon for both his parents to be dead by this point. As I stated earlier… something just doesn’t seem right.
Foley continued…
“I call on my brother John, who is a member of the U.S. air-force”
… wait, STOP THE TAPE.
When I heard this statement by Foley — alarm bells started going off all over the place.
Though it is not impossible — It is highly unlikely that the militants could have access to this much information about James Foley except HE (James Foley) willfully gave it to them.
Now some would argue that the militants could have hired an investigator or had an inside man that was able to get access to this information. While this is true and indeed possible, there is another factor that in my opinion throws that possibility out of the window.
for the sake of argument — Lets just imagine that the ISIS militants were able to get this information from an inside man. Even if that were the case, how could they get James Foley to actually cooperate with them in the video?
I don’t know about you guys —
but the moment that I read the line in the script that says…
“I call on my friends family and loved ones to rise up against my REAL killers — The U.S. government. For what will happen to me is only a result of their complacency and criminality”
Those militants would have had a struggle keeping me down on the ground.
I would be rolling around in the sand and biting every hand that I could reach.
Is this not Human Nature?
But judging from the video, we can clearly conclude that James Foley knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that he would be killed immediately after his recitation was complete.
How then were they able to get him to willfully (and calmly) recite a script that clearly portrays his on own death?
On top of all of this, if you visit the twitter-page of the allegedly deceased man (@jfoleyjourno)
you will see a barrage of Retweets from people who appear to be anti-Israel and Muslim sympathizers.
This post is not to attack the family of James Foley nor is it to take away from his memory as an American Journalist — instead it is simply to enforce the statement made earlier
…. that something just doesn’t seem right.
