Hey guys, Deon here.
As I was searching the web I ended up stumbling across this video. Although I do not know who this man is, I was completely appalled by what I was seeing.
In this video, the first red flag was when the man spoke to his congregation and said…
“If Jesus can turn water into wine, fish into his body, Loaves from the boy into what — his body. People can eat, So I am going to give them food from above.”
This statement is so backwards that I am not sure where to begin.
The man states that Jesus did the following…
Although the first event is recorded, the 2nd two are questionable at best.
If he is making reference to the last supper where Jesus broke bread with his disciples (Matt 26:28) and told them that this was his body — then it is worth noting that although Jesus literally turned water into wine, he did not literally turn fish or loaves into his body — instead it was a symbolic representation of his sacrifice.
But even if we omit this, the biggest statement made that I have a problem with is the following…
“So I am going to give them food from above”
Firstly, for him to declare that he is going to give them food from above was extremely disrespectful (in my opinion) to both GOD and Christ.
Please allow me to explain.
What power does man have that HE can send down food (life) from heaven?
Even Jesus said…
(John 5:19 KJV) “Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.”
Therefore if Jesus stated that he can do nothing of himself, what man is there that can claim otherwise?
If we go back through history, even when the Children of Israel were wandering in the desert without food or water (Exodus 16) — Moses prayed to God and it was HE (God) who sent down manna (food) from heaven.
But Moses dared not take authority over the power of GOD by claiming that he (moses) would be the one to send down food from heaven.
In fact the one time where Moses actually took authority over the power of GOD was when GOD told him to speak to the rock, but Moses struck it twice instead. (Numbers 20)
And what was GOD’s response?
(Numbers 20:12 KJV) “And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.”
Because Moses struck the rock twice instead of merely speaking to it, It took glory away from GOD because it appeared to the people that Moses was the one who caused the water to flow from the rock.
And as a result of their actions, GOD denied both Moses and Aaron the opportunity to enter the land that he had promised the children of Israel.
After stating that he was going to give them “food from above”, the man continued speaking to the congregation and then with a loud voice he yelled “WAKE UP”
Immediately after he said this, members in the congregation began screaming, shaking, and behaving in a manner that resembled nothing short of demonic possession.
After they had entered this state, he instructed them to go outside and eat “the food” that he had called down from heaven.
The members in this trance-like state then rushed outside and began eating the filthy grass that is more than likely the home of legions of parasites and germs.
Jesus warned his disciples that many false prophets would come in his name declaring that they are follower’s of Christ — but he also taught them that they will know a tree by the fruit that it bears.
(Matthew 7:15-17 KJV) Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
As I sat and watched the people laying in the grass, I realized that they were literally GRAZING like cattle, goats, and other beasts.
How disrespectful is that for humans (who were made in the image and likeness of the most high GOD) to be eating grass like a cow or a goat?
It was then that GOD brought a scripture to my remembrance.
(Romans 1:22-23 KJV) Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
Now I ask you reader, who would want to turn the image of God into the image of a BEAST?
HINT: It surely is not the Holy Spirit.
Speaking under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, the Apostle Paul also foretold of the days to come where men would be seduced by fallacies and lying fables.
(1 Timothy 4:1 KJV) “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;”
As Christians, it is important for us to be vigilant and aware of what is going on around us. We are truly living in perilous times where evil and deception abounds.
Sadly, many people are being deceived by these false doctrines and are literally falling into eternity unprepared for what awaits them on the other end.
As followers of Christ we have both a spiritual and moral obligation not only to spread the truth but to expose the lies whenever we see them.
We should not be hindered by the fear of offending someone if we know that what we are speaking is the absolute truth. And because we are sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ — we know that he is the one and only truth and that there is salvation in no other (Acts 4:12).
One thing that Christians must come to terms with is the fact that not only is this world getting darker, but it will continue to get darker until the return of Jesus Christ. The bible has already forewarned us of this.
But despite of what is taking place all around us, it is important that we keep our eyes on Christ and trust the leading and guidance of the Spirit of truth (holy Spirit) that was given to us. God has already promised that he will never leave us comfortless.
(John 14:16 KJV) And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
(John 14:17 KJV) Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
