The video quickly went viral after being published online, earning over a million views in less than a month.
However, apparently the 12 year old kid struck a nerve with the Facebook hit-squad that many (including Pearson) believe resulted in his account being suspended by the Social-Media giant.
The young man in the video is a Georgia resident by the name of C.J. Pearson.
For those unaware, former mayor of New York City Rudy Giuliani recently came under fire by many in the left-wing for daring to question whether President Obama truly loves America. Inciting that despite his patriotic rhetoric, his actions suggest otherwise.
In his video, Pearson praises Giuliani for having the boldness to speak out and openly share his beliefs — even if it contradicts popular opinion.
After the video went viral, Pearson reported that after attempting to log into his Facebook account one day — He discovered that his account had been suspended for violation of Facebook’s TOS (Terms of Service).
It was then that Pearson asked his Editor, Alan Davidson, to Alert the Public as to what had happened.
Facebook Responds:
After receiving frequent criticism over the suspension of Pearson’s account, Facebook finally responded by denying the claim that it deleted the young man’s account because of his political views.
Instead, Facebook stated that the account was deleted because it actually violated the company’s user policy.
“You have to be 13 to have a Facebook account. This is a requirement, not a suggestion. He was locked out because he lied about his age, not because of the content,”
a Facebook statement read.
However Pearson and others feel that the Social-Media site used this merely as an excuse to silence him from propagating his political views.
“I would consider that complete malarkey,” Pearson told Fox. “Because in all honesty, there are many many people younger than me who have a Facebook account.”
“If they are going to stifle free speech and hinder the First Amendment, then I think there should be necessary repercussions about that,” he said.
“I think the point is this: When a person decides to speak up, their voice shouldn’t be hindered because of someone disagreeing.”
