So often, we find ourselves so focused on Right Now that we virtually become near-sighted.
It is so easy for us to JUDGE our self-worth on where we are PRESENTLY,
as opposed to where we will be.
( I for one can honestly say that I have been guilty of doing this. )
But I have found one quote that has really helped me to focus, NOT on where I am, but rather, where I am Going.
Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap,
but by the seeds that you plant.
– Robert Louis Stevenson
Whenever we desire to see a certain outcome,
we must FIRST plant the seeds that will result in us reaping the harvest of what we want.
But you will only reap the harvest of the seeds that you have planted!
So many people want to reap a Harvest, but they are not planting anything!
How silly would It look If I walked outside, Sat on a plot of dirt and WAITED for an apple tree to spring up?
So Day after day, month after month, and year after year…
My neighbor sees me sitting on the ground waiting to reap something that simply is not there!
Why is it not there?
Because I never PLANTED anything!
this may sound silly when placed in a literal sense, but many people do this very thing in a figurative manner…
They are expecting SOMETHING, from doing nothing.
If you ask them what they are doing to make it happen, they simply reply…
“I will just have Faith”
Although faith is indeed necessary, It is simply ONE ingredient required for Success.
Although God COULD just do things out of thin air, that is NOT the way he operates.
He always requires US to do something as well, he is the God of Seed Action.
When God rescued the children of Israel from Egyptian bondage, he sent Moses…
Of course God could have just Swooped them all out of Egypt, but he didn’t.
Moses was the Seed that God to rescue them.
When they were preparing to cross the Red Sea,
Did he just Part the Waters without any work from Moses?
No, But God told Moses to first “Stretch forth his hands”… (Exodus 14)
but of course we know that It was not Moses who parted the Red Sea, but it was God.
although Moses did literally nothing to help part the Sea, his ACTION was required.
The same principle is applicable to us today!
God works WITH us in our lives, not FOR us.
Everything that exists started out as a Seed of some sort, and it was nurtured into maturity.
It does no good to just “Believe” something without the work that is required to bring it into Fruition!
Faith without works is Dead;
James 2:14
So for whatever it is that we desire to see, we must first plant the seeds of that desire.
But it is not enough to just Plant the seed & forget about it…
once the seed has been planted, It must be nourished…
There will be many days that you will tend to the seed but won’t see the fruits of your effort, But if you Faithfully continue to nourish those seeds day-by-day
… you can be sure that The Lord of the Harvest will send the rain that is needed to cultivate your effort (seeds)
Just think about it,
How far would would a gardener be if they decided to Chop down their Apple Tree because they have been working for 2months & they don’t have any apples yet?
Be Persistently stubborn when striving for your goals!
Nothing is too hard for him that can believe.
Do You Hear That?
… It SOUNDS like the Abundance of Rain 🙂
So get ready for YOUR harvest!
